Shadowed Summer Wins!
SHADOWED SUMMER has won The Society of Midland Authors Book Award for Children's Fiction! Formed in 1915, The Society presents juried awards to authors in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, literary criticism and biography to authors with ties to the midwestern heartland. It's such an honor to have my debut novel recognized, especially by such a longstanding literary society!

Shadowed Summer Illustrated
Since the paperback for Shadowed Summer is coming out June 8th, with a new look on the cover, I wanted to do something to celebrate that.
Everybody's gotten kind of used to seeing Iris' face, so I thought it would be fun to commission Loraine Sammy- one of my favorite artists- to illustrate a scene from the book. We decided on the seance scene, and she created this amazing piece of art!

I'm going to be sharing it on bookmarks and stickers in June- it's just too awesome not to share!
